Strong Traditions and Roots
The Firm, organized as
a professional corporation in December 1998, is the successor of
a private legal practice originally established
in 1980 by Edilberto Berríos-Pérez, a University of
Puerto Rico School of Law Magna Cum Laude graduate. Mr. Berríos-Pérez
is a leading legal practitioner in Puerto Rico, highly recognized
for his knowledge and expertise in the areas of bankruptcy, creditor/debtor
relations, construction litigation, suretyship, and insurance work.
He and his brother, Freddie Berríos-Pérez, Of Counsel
for Berríos & Longo Law Offices, P.S.C., acquired their talent, love, and
dedication for the legal profession from their father Edilberto Berríos-Dávila,
one of Puerto Rico’s most prestigious attorneys, who is acknowledged
by the community as a true representative of respect and integrity
in the legal arena, as well as a pioneer in the areas of construction,
land development, and correlative notary law. Mr. Berríos-Dávila
assists the Firm by serving as Consultant.
The broad knowledge and expertise of Mr. Edilberto Berríos-
Pérez in complex areas of the law have definitely contributed
to the reputation of Berríos & Longo Law Offices, P.S.C. as a leader in its
specialized areas of practice. Fundamental in much of the Firm’s
success has been the ability to blend his talents with those of energetic
junior lawyers driven by the desire to serve and excel. Consequently,
in 1998, Mr. Berríos-Pérez decided to join efforts
with one of his most able associates, Fernando E. Longo-Quiñones,
a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico School of Law.
